Setting out to do this project in February 2020 my musical goal was simple - make some toes tap and bring a sparkly smile to some faces. That happened... and, that didn't happen. Well, not exactly.
Early 2020, SUIT launched "Birthday"on the precipice of one of the most egregious lies ever unleashed on humanity. Deep in the midst of a human engineered climate crisis that, from some perspectives, is certain to destroy us all while the censorship-lovin' billionaire class scoops up the world's most desirable coastal properties and forces everyone else to cram into urban cages called "Smart Cities." Not too smart. Layer in a jarring level of social unrest fermenting just beneath the surface and ready to explode at any moment, the insane chaos persisting in governments everywhere, the authoritarian controllers seeking to eliminate every ounce of our freedom, and the fiat monetary system literally experiencing a free-fall collapse like Building 7, I knew this was going to be an awesome period in history to create and document what the hell is going on! I do what I do. I take care of my family and community first, then grab the strings, the keys and the sticks, and contribute to the music of this extraordinary time.
SUIT is my soundtrack. SUIT will explore whatever SUIT wants to explore. Here's the vision: My end goal is to create a body of work that includes the release of one musical volume (10 songs) every year for 10 years - from 2020 - 2030, along with other collateral like music videos and social media. As a good friend recently described it, I view this collection as a “historic documentary." "Birthday" (2020) is the first of 10 volumes followed by "Wet" (2021) and "Leisure" (2022), "Power" (2023) and the current run of "Jump" (2024). The lyrical content is my POV around what I describe as “The Raging 20’s," which is proving to be quite the exceptional and pivotal time in human history: win, or lose; survive or die. It’s that simple.
